Altered Perspective
It’s no coincidence why Altered Perspective is named what it is and that it’s the first item we decided to feature. Here’s why…
Before we try and explain why, you must first know something of Tumblr. Tumblr themes up till now have held certain characteristics which have made them very identifiable. Some of the main characteristics are the very simple column based designs and a navigation consisting of RSS, Archive, and Mobile buttons. And chances are, as with many things, it’s the content solely that drives the success of your blog.
The reason we decided to feature Altered Perspective is multifaceted and we feel this is a unique design that has proven to be a step out of the box and more importantly, in the right direction. The theme was designed with an application to photographers and those with a broader scope of creativity. The guys of Motive Media have found success in designing with rows rather than columns and we think it’s very cool. To accomplish this, Motive Media built a custom Javascript header with left and right scrolling abilities. As you scroll down you come across 4 different rows displaying your images, posts, twitter buzz and flicker feed.
In addition to everything mentioned Altered Perspective comes with Disqus commenting and a custom video tutorial for easy installation and questions. See it for yourself.
In conclusion, those of you looking for inspiration in your designs, or are looking to stand out from the crowd, Altered Perspective is your answer.
